I love Salmon! I love bread! I love seafood in general! I almost freaked when I saw Darius make this juicy salmon burger live on Instagram! Sharing is caring, so if you missed it, here it is!
What You'll Need
You don't need very much to make this meal. A few ingredients, feel free to add your own spin or twist to Darius' dish.
2 lbs of Salmon, cut into chunks
1 tablespoon of Kosher salt
1 teaspoon of black pepper
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
2 tablespoons of fresh dill (or more, if you like it)
1/4 cup of olive oil
Cooking Directions:
Place all of your ingredients into a food processor. Next, pulse until the combined ingredients until you have the consistency like a meatloaf with a few chunky pieces for texture. I don't like mine too pulsed and fine. Shape into 1/3 pound round patties and cook on a hot grill until medium well. You definitely don't want to overcook your salmon.
I added mayo to a buttered and toasted bun (brioche is my fave) along w/a few raw purple onions. Darius pickles his onions. I usually don't like the taste of pickled onions. To give it an extra kick, I would even sauté the onions a bit.
If you want to follow his recipe for pickled onions:
Add 1 cup of apple cider vinegar, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of water to a sauce pot and bring to a boil. Add in the onions and allow the mixture to cool. Chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours before enjoying. And it's just that simple!
To garnish, I like to add a tomato and arugula to accompany my onion.
